A bit obsessed with my nails at the moment, and only slightly obsessed with Essie’s beautiful nail colours. If you want beautiful nails follow these tips.
Tip 1) - Remove all of your oil nail polish properly and if you don’t have any on make sure to cleanse your nail bed of any dirt, oil etc. using a sweep of nail polish remover - your natural nails can be beautiful too.
Tip 2) Use cuticle cutters and cuticle oil - cut away any flaky skin around your nails and use cuticle oil everyday to keep your nails hydrated and beautiful
Tip 3) Always remember to finish your filing in one direction. So many people will file backwards and forwards and leave the nail rough or jaged at the ends - if you finish your filing in one long swoop. Your nails will keep a beautiful shape
Tip 4) Pick a colour that will work for you for an extended period of time. If you want beautiful nails and you want them to last you want to love the colour. Think about the week ahead - what are you doing - you want your nails to match your outfits.
Here are the beautiful Essie nail polish colours which I am only a little bit inlove with at the moment.
Amazing beautiful nail colours from Essie - from the top (right to left) they are:
Madison Ave-Hue, My Better Half, Playdate, Meet Me At The Altar, Plumberry, Wife Goes On, Cute As A Button, Canyon Coral, Bikini So Teeny, In the Cab-Ana, Fashion Playground and Cocktail Bling.
Tip 5) Use a Top Coat and a Base Coat - lock your colour in, and save it from any cracks - you can get loads of different top coats, matte effects my favourite is Kensington Top Coat by Nails Inc, it is touch dry in 45 seconds and gives you such a beautiful gloss finish. They have also just brought out a gel effect Kensington too - eek!

Great tips…. I always put on a base coat but for the top coat I use a quick dry spray (forgot the name). I also find it hard to file my nails with one directi :/

Ooh that sounds good - you’ll have to let me know of the spray! You can file them both directions but at the end when your finishing up the nail try to file it only one direction a few times - this stops hair cracks! It’s hard but you’ll get used to it! :)
